The Gran Canaria freshwater fishing licence is needed if you want to go fishing in the various lakes that are located on the island, like presa Chira or Soria. Travel operators who organize fishing trips will do the job for you, as it is generally included in their excursion package, but if you want to go fishing on your own, then you will need to get a licence for the days that you will be around the lakes. We can do the job for you.
There are a four types of licences, depending on the length of your stay, age, and residence status:
This type of licence doesn’t allow you to do any kind of shore fishing, so if you want to do shore fishing too, then you need to apply for a shore fishing licence, by clicking here.
When shall I order my 15-day licence?
Processing can take a couple of weeks, so order as soon as possible. Let us know the day you'll be fishing, and we'll request that date as an "issue date", even if you order months ahead.
How will you send me the licence?
By e-mail. All you have to do is print it out on your end, or at your hotel, apartment or vacation rental.
What do I need to do, to order the licence?
Is it safe to send you my passport?
We delete all personal files after the licence has been processed. Files are deleted from the e-mail account as well as from our computers. If you would rather send the file by Whatsapp or Telegram apps, please contact us.
Why do you charge more than the official government rate?
We get the job done for you fast, which saves you all the hassle. An administrative fee is included in the prices we charge, to pay for paperwork, and helps support our website, which receives no subsidies from anyone.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes, the more licences you order, the more you save.
How many rods am I allowed?
You're allowed 2 rods, and both must be within your reach. This means that you can't leave them and go away for lunch, and come back later ;)
Where am I allowed to fish?
Although the Gran Canaria government owns various water reservoirs (Chira, Ayagaures, Gambuesa, Mulato, Fataga), fishing is only allowed in lake Chira. (Information updated on May 2019)
To order your inland licence, you can fill this handy form, and hit the Paypal button in the following screen. Processing typically takes 1 week.
Please let us know what date you want to start fishing. This will be the issue date on the licence, even if you order it weeks in advance. An example of this would be if you order in the month of May, and will arrive in June 15th. We'll request a licence in May with the issue date of June 15th. Your 15 days would start counting from June 15th.
